You can always find somebody that has more than you, as well as less than you.

“For we are not bold to number or compare ourselves with certain of them that commend themselves: but they themselves, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves with themselves, are without understanding.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭10:12‬ ‭ASV‬‬ http://bible.com/12/2co.10.12.asv

At first glance at this picture you might see an ugly dead tree branch. But a closer look reveals beauty and a home for animals.

We tend to compare ourselves with others, listen to others criticize our actions. We tend to base our success and failures on what others say about us.

I used to tell my children, there will always be someone that has more than you, that does something better than you, and there will always be someone that has less than you and does something worse than you.

I think this type of thinking keeps a person humble and gives them confidence. Isn't it true that if we start thinking highly of ourselves we get a big head? And if we start thinking poorly of ourself we go into depression and we're just too hard on ourself. Accepting Gods gift of His Son, Jesus as our Savior, gives us hope and peace. If we realize we are Gods children made by the almighty God for His purpose, we can then realize our value, as well as the value of others.

What perspective are you using to look at your life today? Yours? Others? Or Gods? Gods perspective wins every time!
